Fuel concern remains

As the price of fuel continues to climb at Riverland outlets, a local Federal MP claims the government has failed to manage the situation.

This morning, diesel was selling for close to $2.60 per litre at many Riverland service stations, with some locations running out over the last week as conflict in the middle east continues.

Local Federal MP, Tony Pasin raised the situation in Parliament this week, saying the high cost of fuel doesn’t stop at the transport companies, with the increases being passed down the supply chain and eventually seen by consumers at the checkout.

There’s now further concern some farmers are unable to lock-in supply for vital operations such as spraying and seeding.
