Analysis of 5 key markets for Australian wine revealed the popularity of Shiraz had fallen over the past 5 years.
That variety still makes up significant plantings in the Riverland, with Shiraz accounting for half of Riverland red wine grapes harvested in the 2022 vintage.

A drop in domestic on-premise sales was also noted by Wine Australia.
