MAFS Groom Blindsides his Bride With Secret Request

What is happening in the MAFs world?

Every time I see MAFs has made the news again I pray it’s finally a happy story, where love has finally triumphed in the MAFs world. Boy, guess that’s too much to ask for. The final week of the experiment is upon us in the MAFs world and the final vows are upon us. This was the chance for many brides and grooms to share truths with their partner. To really sum things up for non-watchers, one bloke tried to use “I’m a s**t boyfriend” as a defence for why he was treating his partner so poorly. Not sure that’s the excuse he wanted it to be…

Anyway, this same bloke, Danny, hasn’t exactly been forthcoming with his new partner Bec about how this relationship is making him feel. Bec was hoping to have a bit more of a connection with Danny and at every opportunity Danny chose to not indulge the “soppy bollocks” (a true poet), which left Bec distraught. Turns out Danny has been feeling emasculated by the fact that he’s moved into Bec’s place. Despite all this, the couple has chosen to stay together, for now, with Bec sharing that behind closed doors the relationship is actually great.

On to the request Danny made that blindsided Bec. Whilst Bec was off doing an interview for the program and was sharing that the relationship was healthy and alive and well, Danny was off asking the producers if he could get a hotel to stay at. Yikes. Talk about a disconnect. It really seems to appear that Danny’s stuck in two minds. Whilst he currently has chosen to stay with Bec in the relationship, it also seems he can’t move past the feeling of being emasculated over staying in Bec’s home. Which honestly leads me to ask. Is this actually that big a deal? Is staying in someone else’s home really that damaging to someone’s feeling of masculinity? If this is seriously that big a problem for someone to feel masculine, I’d say their masculinity was fairly fragile to begin with, because being this upset over it seems like soppy bollocks to me. Perhaps there are other reasons besides what’s being said, we don’t really know what is happening behind close doors of course and both Bec and Danny deserve the chance to work it out, but as of right now, this dynamic doesn’t seem healthy for either of them.
