As the price of fuel increases, there’s renewed calls from the RAA to shop around.
The temporary cut to fuel excise has now finished, seeing prices steadily climb with unleaded now over $2/litre at some Riverland outlets.
Fuel sellers have been warned inspectors will be on the lookout for price discrepancies, which follows news last week two Riverland outlets had been fined for not complying with SA’s real time price monitoring regulations.

Outlets are required to update pricing online within 30 minutes of the bowser changing, as well as needing to report when a type of fuel is unavailable.
Further to this, fuel retailers are warned the ACCC will be looking closely at any suspected price gouging.
