The Waikerie Football Club has extended its condolences to the family and friends of former player, Antonio Loiacono, who died playing football on the weekend.
The 20 year old played for Waikerie last season, after stints at Norwood through their junior system.
This season Antonio lined up for Birdwood in the Adelaide Hills, and was flown to Adelaide after an on field collision in Saturday’s match, but sadly died Sunday night.
The wider football community remains in shock following the incident, with SANFL CEO, Darren Chandler saying they were deeply shocked and saddened, and stood ready to offer support to Antonio’s family, friends and teammates.
