Teachers to strike

Riverland teachers will walk off the job this Thursday, after The Australian Education Union rejected the latest pay offer from the State Government.

Union members say a 4% increase over the first year, followed by 3% in the second year, and 2.5% in the year three is not good enough.

They’re seeking up to 8.6% per year until 2026, and better working conditions.

What this means for local schools on Thursday is still unclear, however year 12 exams won’t be impacted.
