A new Riverland community wellbeing initiative has seen a strong uptake, prior to the official launch.
MOVE Riverland forms part of the Connected and Active Communities program, and sees participants Walk, Run or Roll along the 5km trail in Barmera, to then log their activity online via the Strava Platform.
Connected and Active Communities Project Officer Nick Dillon said “By leveraging the existing 5km trail at Lake Bonney and collaborating with local clubs, MOVE Riverland aims to create a supportive and inclusive environment for all community members to engage in physical activity, fostering health and connection,” he said.
“This initiative is not about being the fastest runner in the group. Instead, it’s about being inspired and encouraged by other people being active in our community”.
An official launch will take place on Sunday the 22nd of June at Lake Bonney, with participants encouraged to enjoy the 5km loop along the lakefront, to then post it via the app.
