As network 7 TV programming prepares to go from Riverland Free-To-Air TV screens, local MP Tony Pasin has launched a petition to keep the services operating.
WIN Television have held the Riverland TV license for over 20 years, and earlier this week outlined Seven Network programming would cease at the end of this month, with WIN citing that they had not reached an agreement with Seven to continue.
As reported since, Seven have said they would be happy to have discussions with WIN to continue.
The member for Barker, Tony Pasin said “To now suggest that streaming services are equivalent to free to air is nonsense.”
The local member added further “Not only is internet unreliable in many regional areas of Australia but it also comes at a cost, a cost that some simply can’t justify when keeping warm and putting food on the table is the priority”.
A petition has now been launched by the local MP in the hope both Seven and WIN can reach an agreement to continue programming.
