Local MP Tony Pasin says he’s highly concerned on possible further cuts to regional spending under the current labor government.
The latest concerns come as labor undertakes a 90 day review of infrastructure funding – including the road Black Spot Program which has run since the mid 90’s to address dangerous roads and intersections.
Recent upgrades of the Sturt Highway and Holder Top Road intersection in Waikerie was one recent recipient, that project cost $1,520,000.
Mr Pasin says “The Federal Labor Government has turned its back on our local communities and is ripping funding from grassroots organisations and local councils and recklessly created uncertainty about the future of road safety investments to pay for their strategy for a big, centralised government.”
