More drivers have been stopped by Riverland Police and may now be looking for other means of Transport.
Saturday evening just before 9pm, Police in Barmera stopped a vehicle on the Sturt Highway were the driver returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.162 – over three times the legal limit.
The driver, a 23-year-old Barmera man was reported for drink driving with a child in the car and was issued with a 12-month loss of licence.
He’ll now also need to face the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
Just over an hour earlier Saturday evening, a driver in Waikerie was drug tested on the Sturt Highway.
Police allege The driver, a 24-year-old Craigmore woman tested positive to methamphetamine. She was handed an instant three-month loss of licence.
