New Library group looks at future site

As time ticks down for a new library being needed in Berri, A new advisory group has been formed.

The new Library Services and Community Space Advisory Group recently inspected the councils proposed site on Riverview drive, to examine and understand further how the new site could be used.

The current community library will need to vacate the shared site with Berri Regional Secondary College by December 2024.

Berri Barmera Council’s Manager of Growth and Activation, Craig Grocke, told members that the group provided an opportunity to “look at a space that has an important function in the future”.

“It’s a space for books and all traditional library offerings, but also a space for other community and civic functions,” Mr Grocke said.
