PIRSA has ramped it the fruit fly response, thanks to a new operation base.
The region now has over 40 separate fruit fly outbreaks, with teams on the ground looking for further flies, together with monitoring existing outbreaks.

Recently operations shifted to the Riverland Event Centre in Barmera, after being located at Renmark’s McCormick Centre for some time.
PIRSA’s Rob Baker says the new location allows for sterile fruit fly breeding to be undertaken in house.
