Mid Murray locals can now apply for community grant funding with applications opening today.
There are three streams of grants available:
- Small Community Grants – Up to $1,000 for projects that help community organisations provide a service to the community to encourage participation and social inclusion.
- Community Event Grants – Up to $2,000 to assist with events and activities that encourage tourism, social inclusion, community participation and recreation. (Event organisers must show that event proceeds will remain in the Mid Murray Council district.)
- Community Project Grants – Up to $5,000 for projects that allow community organisations to make a positive contribution through projects that develop and enhance their group’s facilities.

There’s also an Individual Sport and Cultural Grant program that supports locals to attend sport, music, art or other cultural activities at a State, National and International level. This grant scheme is open year round.
Mid Murray Mayor Simone Baileysays the Community Grants Program provides tangible support for thedistrict’s community groups and their important work.
