Man to face Berri Court for fraud offences

A man who Police say was trusted to manage superannuation & investment funds is expected to face Berri Magistrates Court today, charged with fraud offences.

Yesterday Detectives from Serious and Organised Financial Crime Investigation Section arrested the 81-year-old man from Hackham, following an investigation which Police say revealed the victims funds were used by the man for his own personal use.

The alleged offences date from August 2015 to March 2022, were Police allege he was paid by victims in excess of $913,000.

He was charged with 10 counts of aggravated theft and one count of aggravated dishonest dealing with documents and was refused Police bail.
