A Mallee dog breeder found guilty earlier this year of animal cruelty offences has appeared in court this week for sentencing submissions.
Kerrie Maree Fitzpatrick had banning orders against her in another state, however an RSPCA investigation running through 2018 & 2019 found 300 dogs at her property at Parrakie.
Earlier deliberations revealed the property was only permitted to have 100 dogs on site.
An animal behaviour expert found 80% of the dogs were in some way distressed, with further submissions this week from the RSPCA outlining Fitzpatrick was banned as a breeder in Victoria.
Her former partner, Colin Ross pled guilty in 2021 to failing to comply with the direction of an animal welfare notice and was fined $8000.
Sentencing submissions for Fitzpatrick were adjourned to August.
