Judging for the historic Riverland Wine Show gets underway today, marking 51 years of the event.
A total of 310 wines have been entered from Australia’s inland wine regions, with the local event thought to be the longest running show for warm climate wine regions.
Regions eligible to enter include the Riverland, Lower Murray, Riverina, Rutherglen and the Murray Darling Wine growing regions as outlined by Wine Australia.
While the industry faces significant pressure currently, the event is seen as a way to celebrate the great things local producers and wineries are doing.
A gala dinner for the event will be held later this month to be held at the Berri Hotel.
