The local health network has responded, following claims by the union of violent incidents at regional hospitals – including in the Riverland.
Last week the SA branch of the Nursing and Midwifery Federation toured the region, and spoke of incidents taking as much as 20 minutes to resolve.
The Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network, via a statement say they have a zero tolerance for violence and aggression, and are committed to providing a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors in all our hospitals.
They say they continue to work to achieve effective and sustainable security strategies with the Department of Health and Wellbeing.
