A group of Riverland wine grape producers have launched a petition, calling for Government assistance to save the industry.
The petition has outlined a bold suggestion, calling for the government to pay producers to pick fruit onto the ground as a means of an oversupply not increasing further.
Another suggestion that’s been tabled by group is for assistance packages to redevelop vineyards to more preferred varieties.

The latest move comes ahead of a Riverland Wine industry public meeting this Wednesday.
