We’re expected to see a rise in River Murray flows to the Riverland this week, with the additional water described as a ‘pulse’ from environmental work upstream.
Flows to SA are expected to rise to 7.5 Gigalitres per day (GL/D) by Friday, up from 5GL/D recorded last week.
The majority of the additional flows are from a winter pulse in the Goulburn River, with the additional water aimed to support floodplain watering and the migration of native fish.
Rainfall last week through the basin has also seen storages increase, with Lake Victoria now sitting at 64%, with flows from the Lake making up around a quarter of flows entering SA.
