Investigations remain ongoing, following yesterday’s fatal crash at the Lyrup Ferry
Just before 7.40am Tuesday, Police were called to the ferry following reports of a vehicle collision.
Police say the vehicle collided with a gate while attempting to board the ferry.
The driver, a 68-year-old Riverland man, and his passenger, a 69-year-old Riverland woman, were both transported to hospital by ambulance.
Sadly, the passenger died in hospital a short time later.
Police from Major Crash will now investigate the circumstances behind the incident further, anyone with information that may assist is urged to contact Police.
The woman’s death is the 37th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year.
