There’s calls for greater security at the Riverland’s major hospital following a violent incident this week that resulted in a door smashed.
CEO and secretary of the SA Branch of the Australian Nursing & Midwifery Federation Elizabeth Debars said “Nurses have been left feeling shaken after enduring what was likely a completely avoidable traumatising event, had security guards been in place,”
In response, Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network (RMCLHN) CEO, Wayne Champion said they have a zero tolerance for violence and aggression, and are committed to providing a safe environment for staff, patients and visitors in all our hospitals.
Mr Champion added further Off-site contracted security guards are available to respond 24/7 when required.
