Battle to make footy finals

Barmera-Monash have sent a statement to the Riverland Football competition they mean business with finals rapidly approaching.  

Trailing by 16 points at the major break, Barmera-Monash put away 4 goals to Loxton North’s 0 in the 3rd quarter, with the Roos powering away from the ladder leaders running out 17 point winners.

That win makes getting to the finals somewhat easier for the Roos, however fellow finals challenger Loxton nearly claimed a win over a tough Renmark side.

The travelling Tigers hit the front in the last quarter, however the three time premiers rallied late to put away three goals and win by 7 points.

Waikerie got the win over Berri, despite the demons best efforts early.

Loxton’s battle with Barmera-Monash this week will be crucial for both sides finals chances, while Waikerie will need to win at least one game out the last two to make the top 4.

They play Loxton North this week, then Barmera-Monash in the final round.
