Apprentice travel increase

There’s more support for Riverland apprentices who are required to travel for training.

Under a State and Federal Government $11M investment, local apprentices can now get 52 cents per kilometre if travelling over 150KM.

Accommodation payments have also increased to $90 per night, and up to $150 per night if outside of SA.

It’s hoped the new arrangements will see a further 400 regional apprentices and trainees undergo training.

Blair Boyer, Acting South Australian Minister for Education, Training and Skills said “Providing direct, practical relief to businesses backing young South Australians will remove barriers for employers, particularly in our regions.
