RARE JENSEN CARS VISITING RENMARK:
On the weekend of May the 3rd & 4th, The Jensen Car Club of Australia is holding it’s National Rally in Renmark. Cars will be attending from every state in Australia. The British Jensen’s are unique in that they were hand built with engines from other makes. Models in the 1950’s had fibre glass bodies. In the late 1960’s Jensen Interceptors, with the distinctive large rear window, were amongst the first cars with four wheel disc brakes and there is a very rare model Jensen FF with all wheel drive and ABS brakes. They had Chrysler Big Block V8 Engines.
Interceptors with their distinctive shape were used in films and television such as “Fast and Furious 6”, “Simon Dutton’s The Saint”, and the ‘Inspector Linley Mysteries”. Some of its owners included HRH Princess Anne, Tony Curtis and Cliff Richard. In 1973 a Jensen Healey sports car was produced which had a Lotus engine. The Jensen Motor Company was also commissioned to build special cars for other companies. They included the hand built Austin Healey and the Volvo P1800.
The cars will be on display in Murray Street Renmark on Sunday 4th May from 10-30 am to 12 noon
