Alan Coulter – Swimming & Fitness Coach

Alan Coulter
Alan has contributed his Fitness Coaching skills across a number of sporting codes in his time in the Riverland at the Recreation Centre and with various sporting codes including football and rowing.
Alan was responsible for training the Renmark Rowing Club preparing them for their successful attempt to achieve a place in the Guinness Book of Records as the first team to row continuously for 24 hours. Their record still stands and Alan was considered to be an integral part of that success.
Alan was given Life Membership of the Renmark Rovers in honour of his work over more than 40 years at the club with the result of his training regime seeing the Rovers play 5 grand finals between 1977 and 1982 and winning 4.
Alan has also been a volunteer swimming coach for the Renmark Swimming Club, for over a decade and freely gave his time to the Renmark High School teams competing in the Solar Power Bike challenge so that the participants would be able to complete the distance from Alice Springs to Adelaide.
The Renmark Recreation Centre was renamed as the Alan Coulter Recreation Centre in recognition of his huge contribution to the fitness of individuals and groups in Renmark and surrounding districts.
Now in his late 70s, Alan is still actively training people to achieve their goals.
