Nearly 40 environmental projects have picked up funding through the local landscape board’s grassroots grants program.
Some of the projects include revegetation and habitat restoration, together with regenerative agriculture practices and educational resources.
Chair of the Murraylands and Riverland landscape board, Frances Simes, said the program plays a vital role in encouraging community-led action.
“The Grassroots Grants program helps bring local ideas to life – supporting practical projects that are meaningful to those who live and work in the region.” Ms Simes said.
The work of volunteers at the Gluepot Reserve was not missed by the funding, with over $5000 allocated to support safer working practices, including capturing rainwater in a way safe for drinking.
The full list of projects can be seen via the landscape board website.
