Pokie revenue hits new high

Riverland gaming venues recorded a near $300,000 increase last financial year in poker machine revenue.

The recently released data that covered the 2024/24 financial year saw $22.6M put through gaming machines in the three major Riverland council areas.

Berri Barmera had the largest increase, seeing an additional $865,000 in revenue, taking the total to over $8.4M for the year.

A number of advocates continue to call for machine numbers to be lowered, with SA as a whole seeing over $1B in poker machine revenue during the 2024/25 financial year.
