Much needed rainfall has been recorded through the Riverland and Mallee.
Overnight rain was first sighted around 2am, and by 9am over 5mm had been recorded at Renmark.
While the figures may seem on the lower side, the dry conditions this year has seen yearly rainfall figures to be under 50mm.

In comparison at the same time last year the Riverland had seen over 100mm of rainfall.
There could be some signs the dry could ease soon however, with the Bureau’s long term forecasts indicating the region could see above average falls through September and November.
