At home, the Magpies held a 22 point lead at the major break, however by 3qtr time this had been reduced to just 10 points.
Despite the best efforts of Barmera-Monash late it was a win to remember for Waikerie 6.9-45 to Barmera-Monash 5-9-39.
At Renmark, the visiting Berri Demons gave Renmark a run for their money and led at half time, to then concede goals in the second half for Renmark to claim the win at the final siren 11.5-71 to Berri 9.5-59.
At Loxton the home side held off a late Loxton North charge, which saw them kick 5 goals in eight minutes after trailing at one stage by 47 points.
Final scores Loxton 11.3-69 to Loxton North 7.5-47.
After eight rounds Renmark remain top of the ladder having just the one loss so far, Waikeire jump to second at the expense of Barmera-Monash who now sit 3rd, with Berri holding 4th despite the loss.
Loxton sit 5th on percentage, with Loxton North sitting 6th having just two wins so far.
