Frank Drebin Jr. is here and Police Squad needs his help!
Liam Neeson is taking The Naked Gun franchise and rebooting it for the modern age and a new look at the upcoming film is here. Neeson is playing Frank Drebin Jr. son of the films original lead Frank Drebin, as played by Leslie Nielsen. You can catch the new trailer for The Naked Gun below!
The original film, which released back in 1988, featured the same zany comedy focused on poking fun at cop films of the time, and it appears the newest film will respect and follow the originals faithfully. Neeson, taking on the role of Leslie Nielsen’s son appears to be a real organic and natural fit to take lead. The Taken star taking the opportunity to show off his comedic chops isn’t completely new either, Neeson in recent years has done more comedy films and has grown a friendly relationship with Naked Gun Executive Producer Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy).
But does Neeson have what it takes to save Police Squad and the world from certain doom?
With the return of The Naked Gun and now Spaceballs 2, I demand we now get a new Austin Powers.
