Like many, a snag from bunnings for me is a part of Australian life.
Sadly, we are in tough and changing times and the snags are going for now (sad face)
Bunnings has announced that it has made the tough decision to suspend sausage sizzles from today.
Bunnings Managing Director, Mike Schneider, said: “Having listened closely to community groups, we’ve learned of the challenges many groups are facing finding volunteers and even supplies to sell given some of the reported challenges being faced by other retailers. We also want to make sure our team remain focused on helping customers to access the products they need.
“We absolutely understand the important role these sausage sizzles play for thousands of local community groups and charities and that finding alternative fundraising opportunities at short notice isn’t easy. To assist community groups who have sausage sizzles booked over the next month, our store teams will donate $500 gift cards to these local organisations to assist with their fundraising activities. Across Australia and NZ, this represents an investment into local communities of over $1.2m.
“There’s no doubt that our decision will disappoint some people in the community and we can’t wait to bring this much-loved community program back,” Mike said.
Bunnings remains focused on caring for its team and communities and as always, stands ready to assist customers with key products and services to maintain their homes and keep small businesses operating.
In terms of other responses the broader challenges that COVID-19 is presenting, Bunnings continues to follow government advice and apply a strongly common sense based approach to its operations.
Bunnings will also be cancelling all other planned in store activities until further notice, including its Easter and Mother’s Day Family Nights, school holiday workshops and trade breakfasts.
Lets hope the snags can return better than ever!
