Bob Cornwell says the National Trust has zeroed in on the Time Capsule at the Overland Corner Hotel, we will have it for Sunday
On the 14th of September 1969, Governor Sir James Harrison buried a time capsule near the Overland Corner Hotel, so 50 years on, the capsule will be retrieved and opened this Sunday at the Overland Corner Hotel.
Sunday from Midday - Join Ian Jeffery LIVE from the Historic Overland Corner Hotel, as we unearth a Time Capsule from 1969 for HARVEY NORMAN MILDURA SUPERSTORE, THE RIVERLAND'S HARVEY NORMAN.
You can checkout and experience photographic displays from the history of the Overland Corner Hotel, palaeontology tours of the limestone quarry, food stalls and a vintage car display by the Riverland Vintage Car Club.
Back in 1969 over 4,000 people attended the lowering of a time capsule. So this Sunday, we will raise it, Bob Cornwell from the National Trust invites everyone to come along and celebrate with us, as we raise the capsule and see what it contains......This is a National Trust SA event.
Entry is by Gold Coin donation and there is plenty of food and drinks available as we take a look at history dating back over five decades.
