A special event is planned this weekend at the Chaffey Theatre, the movie is called ‘The Public’.
Sharlene from the Chaffey Theatre explains the movie tells a great story, and Michelle from AC Care says this is a great way to 'Pay it Forward' tomorrow.
'The Public' is the name of the movie.
Starring Emilio Estevez, Jena Malone, Taylor Schilling, Alec Baldwin, Gabrielle Union, Christian Slater, Jeffrey Wright, Michael K. Williams, Che "Rhymefest" Smith and Jacob Vargas.
Written and Directed by Emilio Estevez, the movie tells the story of an unusually bitter Arctic blast has made its way to downtown Cincinnati. At odds with library officials over how to handle the extreme weather event, the patrons turn the building into a homeless shelter for the night by staging an "Occupy" sit in. What begins as an act of civil disobedience becomes a standoff with police and a rush-to-judgment media constantly speculating about what's really happening.
This David versus Goliath story tackles some of our nation's most challenging issues, homelessness and mental illness and sets the drama inside one of the last bastions of democracy-in-action: your public library.
With concerning facts about the number of homeless people in the Riverland and Mallee, the under twenty-five-year old's, Michelle from AC Care and Sharlene from the Chaffey Theatre, have come together for a fundraiser movie this Saturday afternoon at 2pm.
Here are the facts -
310 people are recognised as homeless

More one in three people have experienced domestic and family violence
Approximately two in five people have reported mental health issues.
So, Michelle has suggested you can pay your ticket forward if you can’t attend, purchase a ticket and drop it off to AC Care, who will make sure someone receive this ticket to watch the movie.
