BORDER TRACK CLOSURE

A section of a popular border track is set to close next week due to the track needing to recover as well as a safety precaution coming into the fire danger season.

A new report released today from the Stroke Foundation has revealed the Riverland town of Renmark to be in Australia’s top 10 hotspot for high blood pressure, putting local residents at serious risk of a potentially devastating stroke.

Nurses and Midwives at two Riverland health facility’s held stop work meetings yesterday, in an effort to have their thoughts known to the state government on a lack of action of their enterprise bargaining agreement. 

DROUGHT FUNDING FOR LOCAL HALL UPGRADES

Users of the Blanchetown Hall will now be able to use the facility at a level of higher comfort, thanks to federal government drought relief funding.

ENDANGERED FISH FOUND IN LYRUP

A small fish listed as nationally endangered since 1999 – the Murray Hardyhead– has been found spawning and healthy at a wetland site near Lyrup in the Riverland.
