Local member for Chaffey Tim Whetstone has made comment on the idea of a Mildura/SA travel bubble, mentioned this week by Mildura MP Ali Cupper.
Earlier this week, the Member for Mildura Ali Cupper called for both the Victorian and SA authorities to look at the idea of residents from Mildura being able to travel into South Australia without needing to quarantine.
Speaking yesterday, Mr Whetstone said “his first priority is the safety of the Riverland community,” however went on to say that “Mildura and Western Victoria are an important part of the economy in the Riverland”
Mr Whetstone finished by saying “my understanding is the transition committee is set to discuss the idea at today’s meeting, and the state will continue to heed the advice of the experts to ensure we keep our region safe and our economy recovering.”
