Locals wishing to cross the border and head to Mildura may be waiting a little longer, following the call yesterday the SA/VIC border will remain closed past July the 20th.
Initially Premier Steven Marshall said that all borders would open, however yesterday conceded “the state government is increasingly concerned about the outbreaks that are occurring in Victoria so we are not in a position to remove our border restrictions”
Mildura MP, Ali Cupper is calling for Victorian and South Australian authorities to consider a travel bubble for the Mildura region allowing Sunraysia locals to travel into SA without having to quarantine.
The Mildura MP said "there's not been a coronavirus case in Mildura since April and the border closure will have a burden on business and tourism".
The SA transition committee is set to update the state later this week as to if ACT and New South Wales borders will open sooner than July 20th.
