The future of local shows is now somewhat more secure thanks to a significant investment from the Federal government.
The Australian government is set to roll out $36 million to support agricultural show societies recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the COVID-19 pandemic has hurt agricultural shows, with most expected to be cancelled for 2020 in the interest of public health and social distancing measures.
Sadly this year multiple local shows were called off including the Karoonda farm fair as well as the Pinnaroo show.
A call on the Loxton show, set for the October long weekend is yet to be made.
