The Renmark-Paringa District hospital will no longer provide emergency services, with patients now told to present to the Riverland General Hospital in Berri going forward.
The Renmark Medical Clinic had been providing ED services at Renmark weekdays, however as of Friday last week will no longer be providing these services.
The move was made in light of the Riverland General Hospital in Berri being best placed to provide 24/7, comprehensive emergency care and also having purpose-built ED and essential on-site services including SA Pathology, SA Medical Imaging and a CT scanner.
Via social media the Riverland-Mallee-Coorong Local Health Network said the health, wellbeing and care of our patients and local communities is extremely important to us, and this change has been made by RMCLHN and the Renmark Medical Clinic with patients best interests in mind.
The local health network also said as always in an emergency call 000
