Bushfire affected business, primary producers and non-profit organisations in the Mid-Murray council area are now able to apply for Concessional loans of up to $500,000.

The costs of these loans will be jointly shared by the Federal and South Australian Government through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.

Federal Minister for Emergency Management, David Littleproud MP, said these loans can help cover working capital expenses such as employee salaries, creditors, rent and rates for businesses in bushfire affected-regions that have suffered a significant loss of income.

State treasurer Rob Lucas said “The concessional loans will bring much needed relief to the State’s hard-hit farming, forestry, viticulture and horticulture industries through the restoration and replacement of small business and primary producer assets damaged by the bushfires”
