NUDISTS AND COUNCIL REACH COMPROMISE

BBC

Users of the pelican point nudist area at Lake Bonney in Barmera have managed to reach a compromise with the Berri-Barmera Council over their allocated area.

Nudists have used the same area at Lake Bonney since 1975, however the group were told the area was no longer gazetted for unclad bathing.

Recently a new area allocated to the group was deemed to be unusable by the user group citing many factors.

A meeting held recently between the group and council has seen the council in principal agree to redevelop the new area with the local group holding high hopes.

The area at Lake Bonney is Australia’s only inland nudist beach.
