Some ecologists are calling on the Federal Government to release the latest information on the much talked about National Carp Control Plan.

The $15 million final recommendation paper was handed to the Federal Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment late January, however is yet to be vied by the public.

The plan determines the feasibility of using the carp herpes virus as a control method for the invasive and destructive fish.

The Department have said it is "reviewing the plan before it progresses for formal consideration by the Australian, state and territory governments".

The national carp control plan first came to the public’s attention in 2017, when the then deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce launched into a passionate speech in parliament.
