Local drought affected councils can now apply for up to 1 million dollars under the Drought Communities Programme.
Minister for Drought David Littleproud said the program was to fund council projects that stimulate their local economy.
Local councils eligible for the extra funds include the Berri-Barmera, Southern Mallee, Renmark-Paringa, Mid-Murray, Karoonda East-Murray as well as Loxton-Waikerie
For projects to be eligible the project must be in an eligible council area, meet project requirements, include eligible activities and expenditure and have at least $25,000 per application in eligible expenditure
