There is still time to have a say on how the independent panel should assess social and economic conditions in the Murray-Darling Basin.

The deadline for feedback on the terms of reference and assessment framework is the close of business on Friday.

Independent Panel Chair Robbie Sefton has urged the public to make their contributions now, and said it is crucial that the panel starts its work with the best possible input from members of the public.

Seven panel members have been appointed from across the basin, looking at seven key areas, from how water reforms have affected different communities through to the best strategies to enhance resilience and community wellbeing.
