The Stanley brand of cask wine will now be made in the Riverland as owner Accolade wines sells off it’s existing manufacturing facility in Buronga in New South Wales.
Private equity firm Carlyle Group purchased Accolade last year, and will transfer winemaking from the 80,000-tonne Stanley facility to the larger winery in Berri.
Duxton Vineyards Group have purchased the Stanley winery, while Accolade will retain the Stanley brand.
Accolade invested $40 million into an expansion of warehousing and storage facilities at the Berri facility, while the Stanley winery was running well under capacity.
The sale is expected to be finalised next month, subject to regulatory approvals.
