Berri Barmera Council approved for $1m worth of projects


Member for Barker Tony Pasin has announced that the Berri Barmera Council has been approved for $1 million worth of projects to boost the economy, social and community needs through the Morrison Government’s Drought Communities Program.

Community amenities upgrades will form part of the funding injection including air conditioning at the Barmera Soldiers Memorial Hall, Bonney Theatre projection, upgraded seating for the Riverland Regional Innovation and Sports Precinct, and upgrades to the Barmera Skate Park.

Tourism and infrastructure projects will also be included in the spend with new tourism signage, Berri wharf enhancements and Lake Bonney jetty lighting as well as upgrades to Monash Adventure Park Equipment, oval irrigation, footpath and cycling paths.

Mr Pasin said eight eligible councils across Barker were eligible for $1 million dollars to undertake projects to deliver outcomes for communities in drought.
