MEN'S HEALTH WEEK THIS WEEK

Riverland and South Australian men are being encouraged to check in on their mates and use this week, Men’s Health Week to make an appointment for a health check.

SA Health’s Director of Prevention and Population Health Branch, Professor Katina D’Onise, said that improving men’s health is a process that involves men, women, families and health services.

Prof D’Onise said.  “Men can sometimes use excuses not to go to the GP like they’re too busy, and they assume that everything will be right,”

“But the reality is that each hour, four men die from conditions that are potentially preventable, and on average men live five years less than women
