Two local election candidates for the seat of Barker have faced questions, due to use of social media.

As reported recently in The Advertiser, Centre Alliance Barker candidate Kelly Gladigau is currently in the legal dispute with the Mid-Murray Council over a Facebook post, which council say brought a former elected member into "hatred, ridicule and contempt".

While also reported in the Advertiser, Local United Australia party candidate Rupert Bacher has also faced questions over a number of Facebook posts which were described as “sexist and tacky”.

The various posts that date back many years included a number of shared posts including an anti-muslim meme.

The Federal election takes place this Saturday.
