Time is running out to vote for the new Minister’s Recreational Fishing Advisory Council following the announcement of the 41 candidates in recent times.
Minister for Primary induistries and regional development Tim Whetstone is encouraging recreational fishers to make their voices heard about who they want representing them.
Mr Whetstone said he urges everyone who is interested in recreational fishing in South Australia to visit the YourSAy website, read the candidate profiles, and vote for their preferred candidates,”
Locally Renmark’s Peter Teakle is the only Murray River based candidate and said if he gets a position on the council he will have a strong focus on community wellbeing and lifestyles that highly mobile rec fishers enjoy as well as the economic spinoffs to local towns.
Mr Teakle has had a long history of fishing, and is currently a board member of RECFISH SA.
