The campaign to get an MRI machine for the Riverland is continuing with the federal government announcing another 50 licences will be issued in Australia.
Local Member for Barker, Tony Pasin has been campaigning for an MRI machine for some time and recently presented a petition to the federal health minister, Mr Greg Hunt with over 4000 signatures.
Mr Pasin said “Over 490 applications have been received from around the country which is an overwhelming response and it proves that this is a highly competitive process.
The additional locations are expected to be announced in coming weeks.
Currently riverlanders needing MRI services are having to travel to Adelaide or Mildura.
