The Lions Club of Renmark 'Christmas Present Wrapping Service’ has raised $2831 for the Royal Flying Doctors Service.
At its meeting on Monday, the club decided to cover all expenses associated with this project, and ‘round up’ the amount to $3000.
The amount will be presented to the Riverland RFDS Committee at the Renmark Square Shopping Centre today at 11am.
Club President, Lion Allan MADDOCKS, says “Our club thanks the new owners/management of the Renmark Square Shopping Centre for allowing us to conduct this successful fundraising project again this year. We thank them for providing a vacant shop on this occasion, which proved to be advantageous to us compared to being in the mall, once the public realised where we were”.
“This follows a successful service given by members and partners of our club, and members of the RFDS committee, in partnership with the Shopping Centre Management at this location over the past 9 years. As in past years, all funds raised go to RFDS, a much valued service for country communities, and we are pleased to be able to give them this donation of $3000” he said.
